The beach
of Argassi is situated 5 km from the island’s capital. It is a 1 km long
sandy beach which also offers water sports facilities
Alykes
is situated 18 km northwest of the island’s capital. The area took it name
from the many salt-pits that are located behind the village. They were
for long time the main source of wealth of the island. Alykes has a beautiful
sandy beach which attracts many visitors.
Laganas
is the most developed and frequented of Zakynthos beaches. It is situated
11 km south of the island’s capital. Laganas is characterised by a 9 km
long sandy beach with clear water. The entire beach is covered with sun
beds and umbrellas
Tsilivi
is situated 6 km of the island’s capital. It is long sandy beach with calm
waters offering many water sports facilities.
Kalamaki
is situated at the end of the east side of the bay of Laganas, 7 km south
of the island’s capital. It is a small but crowded beach resort which attracts
many visitors as it is considered as one of the most beautiful Zakynthos
beaches.
The beach
took it name from the ship that, in 1983, transported illegally cigarettes
and washed up on the beach that has, by the years, grown up around it.
It is situated at the eastern part of the island, near the village of Anafotiria.
The official name of the beach is Agios Georgios.
It is
considered as one of the most beautiful Zakyntos beaches. It is a long
sandy beach with clear waters. There are few beach bars offering their
shade and proposing sun beds and umbrellas rentals. |
