Thessaloniki Macedonia Greece

Thessaloniki has an impressive variety of goods to offer shoppers, from top designer labels and exquisite jewelry to fine antiques, furs and high quality leather goods. Shops are open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday 9 am-3 pm and on Tuesday and Thursday 9 am-8 pm.
Major shopping areas are: Tsimiski, Venizelou, Agias Sofias, Ermou, Mitropoleos, Egnatia and M. Iossif St
Thessaloniki is also famous for its food markets. Modiano is the biggest food market in the city and it is well-known all over Europe. Next to Modiano are many flower shops that give a special colour to the area, and the Turkish old baths Giahoudi Hamam.
Other traditional markets are those of Vlali, kapani, Agora Solomou, and Vardaris, a rather bad-famed area. In stoa Karasso (Karasso Arcade) and Bezesteni women may buy real or fake jewellery, and innumerable little fashionable objects.
