Thessaloniki
gives
new meaning to the word nightlife. Whether you start with dinner
and then hit the clubs, or begin with a couple of drinks and then make
your way to one of the many bouzoukia (clubs specializing in Greek
music played on bouzoukis,), the city is sure to keep you entertained
until the early hours. Clubs offering live music are located
in the area of the airport. Drinks cost 10 Euro while a bottle of
whiskey costs 120 Euro
Popular
nightclub
piano bar, and dancing are located in all the city of
Thessaloniki
Drinks cost about 6 Euro
A
lot of the city's Nightlife evolves around Mylos an old windmill
that has been converted to a complex of clubs and restaurants.
In
the summer, virtually all of Thessaloniki's best bars and clubs shut down.
Some immediately reopen branches along a section of the road leading east
along the coast, about a mile before the airport. This, plus the fact that
new or newly decorated and renamed venues are constantly opening while
others go out of fashion and close, makes it virtually impossible to recommend
any with certainty.
Thessaloniki
has many theatres and some one hundred cinemas, some of which
are open-air for pleasant summer viewing.
