Santorini
is a very small cluster of volcanic islands in the Cyclades island group
in Greece. Santorini is comprised of Thira and Oia,
as well as several uninhabited smaller islands.
Basically, Santorini is what is
left of an enormous volcanic explosion, which destroyed the earlier settlements,
and split up the original single island into the smaller ones found today.
Due to Santorinis beauty and lively nightlife, it is a well visited
tourist attraction.
On the west side of Santorini,
you will find towering cliffs with small whitewashed houses that seem to
tower over the sea below. The coastline holds beautiful beaches on the
east side, some of which are covered with tiny pebbles instead of sand. |
